Trilobite – Calymene Fossil (3–5 cm)

Hold a remarkable piece of ancient history in your hands with a fossilized trilobite from Morocco. Trilobites were among the first successful arthropods to inhabit the oceans and lived hundreds of millions of years before the dinosaurs appeared.

These remarkable fossils are offered under the trade name Calymene and date back to the Ordovician, a geological period from approximately 485 to 444 million years ago.

Trilobites were marine animals with a characteristic body made up of multiple segments and a hard exoskeleton. Thanks to this skeleton, their distinctive shapes have been preserved for millions of years.

Our trilobites measure approximately 3 to 5 cm in length and are characterized by their clearly visible body segments and natural earth tones. Some specimens are partially rolled up, a posture that certain trilobites used to protect themselves from predators.

Each trilobite is unique and serves as a tangible reminder of life in the ancient seas.
